August 19, 2011

Today was a little less hurried. I was able to work in 10 missionary interviews and we went to dinner at the district president’s house. Sister Moutham treats Jan very well as she speaks English to her. President Moutham had spent all week working in the northern part of the island. He is a marine biologist and is working on a special project where his team will work until midnight each night all week long and then come home a rest for a week. He seemed in pretty good spirits, however, since he did the cooking of an extremely good stir fry dinner. He provided us with fresh tuna, shrimp, chicken, pork, and steak strips as well as chopped vegetables. We had a very tasty tossed salad with vinaigrette dressing and French bread as well. The dessert was a nut cake with ice cream. Everything was very good and I ate too much. We got home around 9:15 and spent the remainder of the evening trying to get ready for a fairly early morning checkout as we need to go up north to the airport for a 10:00 am flight tomorrow morning.
